Take Your Land Back
Invasive species removal and brush clearing across New Jersey and the Northeast
Property Managment Where It Counts
New Jersey is losing ground. Multiflora rose, oriental bittersweet, autumn olive, and porcelain berry have swallowed hedgerows, fence lines, trails, and whole back acres. It happens slowly enough that you don't notice until the day you realize you haven't been back there in years.
Tree companies work the canopy. Landscapers work the lawn. Almost nobody works the layer in between — and that's the layer that took your land..
Services
-
Selective removal of invasive growth and overgrown brush. Everything is mulched in place and left as clean ground cover, so there's no burn pile, no dump trailer, and no torn-up lawn. Access restored, mature trees left standing.
-
Trees 2–3″ caliper and larger. Proper soil preparation, correct planting depth, staking, and aftercare guidance — whether you're adding shade, putting in a privacy screen, or returning native species to ground the invasives came out of.
-
Overgrown or outdated beds rebuilt as low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly native plantings, chosen to thrive in New Jersey's coastal and Pine Barrens conditions.
About
I'm Noah Seiler, and Understory is a one-man operation. I'm the person who walks your property, runs the machine, and answers the phone afterward.
Before coming home to New Jersey, I spent five years owning and operating a landscape construction and maintenance company in Colorado, alongside a firewild mitigation business in the Rocky Mountains. I have run crews on everything from detailed residential installs to large-scale land management.
I came back to a state quietly being taken over — and to a job almost nobody was doing. The understory is the layer of woods between the ground and the canopy. It's the layer that disappears first, and it's the whole reason this company exists.
